SNHU A Look Back At The Old Days.

 

Well October is all most over. Pretty soon its time to start prepping for this years holiday season.

 

I was at my old college for alumni weekend this month. Southern New Hampshire University or SNHU. I hung out with my fraternity Brothers of Phi Delta Theta. I meet some of the new active brothers and some of the Pledges for this semester class.  A Great group of guys.

 

So As I walked on Campus I could not believe all the changes that have taken place in the last 10 years. New Buildings, renovations, and technology has changed this campus for the better. Every Bedroom on campus has a laptop computer and flat screen TV.

 

When I was going there only a few of us had laptops and the campus just got student email. I was the only one with Internet connection in my town house. We had a 27” color TV and thought that was the huge for watching the games and movies on.  DVD’s were not out yet and CD’s were the hot item. No one had a cellular phone and Blackberry’s were not around yet.

 

I remember if we wanted to find someone we had to go look for them or call around campus. Now you just pick up your cell phone and hope they have theirs turned on.

 

How did we make money back then. We had to work manual labor for it. I did delivery for a local sub shop. Some of my roommates worked at Pizza Hut. Most of the women  waitress at the local restaurants.

 

Now a day if you have an entrepreneur spirit and Internet access you can turn your Dorm Room into Mission control. All you need is a laptop, all in one printer with scanner, fax machine, and a phone.

 

Actually College students can start a business now their freshman year and graduate with a business that not only looks good on a résumé but if you grow it the right way you could hire people to run it for you or sell it for that all needed cash when you graduate.
